The Heart of Kent Hospice is once again offering for sale one of the sculptures from its Shaun the Sheep art trail. This particular cartoon sculpture, named Sheep-nanigans, was created by artist Sadie Williams and draws inspiration from the works of writer and illustrator Ralph Steadman. The Heart of Kent Hospice’s art trail was launched in June 2024, with 52 of its sculptures subsequently auctioned in September 2024. A representative for the hospice expressed that they are “thrilled” to be reauctioning this “beautiful piece which we hope will raise thousands.” The current auction is scheduled to conclude on 5 December 2024. All proceeds generated from this sale will be added to the £265,250 total previously accumulated from the initial charity auction. Mr. Steadman has been a prolific writer and illustrator of children’s books since the 1960s, with notable titles including Quasimodo Mouse, Again!, and Alice in Wonderland. The Sheep-nanigans sculpture features many of these characters.
