Everton supporter Paul Brown has stated that “everything needs ripping out” at the club upon the official takeover by the Friedkin Group, a sentiment that extends to manager Sean Dyche. The American-based conglomerate, which also owns Serie A team Roma, has demonstrated a willingness to implement significant changes since acquiring the Italian club. For instance, head coach Ivan Juric was dismissed earlier this month after overseeing only 12 matches, during which his team secured four wins and suffered five losses. Speaking on BBC Radio Merseyside, Brown remarked, “It sounds like they are really ruthless, but I like the fact they are a bit brutal.” He then drew a comparison to Everton’s current managerial situation, noting, “It’s hard not to refer to the manager situation here at Everton. They sacked Juric for winning four matches in 12 games – but we have a manager who has won seven games in 31.” Brown expressed his hope that the Friedkin Group would not tolerate similar performance levels upon their arrival at Everton, stating, “I would like to think they won’t be having any of that when they come to Everton.” Brown emphasized the critical importance of Sean Dyche’s upcoming matches. He suggested that defeats against Brentford and Manchester United, followed by the Friedkin Group’s arrival, would likely prompt the new owners to appoint their own manager. Brown reiterated his view that “Everything just needs ripping out at Everton as part of a complete reset.” Brown observed a growing discontent among supporters towards Dyche, attributing it to the “terrible and frustrating football to watch” and acknowledging existing “fan pressure.” He added, “I am not sure if the new owners are listening to that pressure, but I have had enough of it now. I thank Dyche for everything he has done for the club with his hands tied, but it is just so bad and boring to watch.” He concluded by asserting, “The players are better than what he is getting out of them.”
