On Saturday, a Wolverhampton church was transformed into a complimentary Christmas Grotto, attracting approximately 200 visitors who came to experience the occasion. Potter’s House Church provided free gifts, games, and an opportunity to meet Santa. Notably, one family made the journey from Leicester specifically to participate. Volunteers spent several days preparing the church for this festive grotto, marking the first time the church has hosted such an event. The event’s organisers expressed astonishment at its success and extended their gratitude to the congregation for their assistance. According to visitor Martha Ngozo, it was her initial visit to England, and her family sought to see Santa but were unsure of suitable locations until they discovered the church’s event via Google. “We enjoyed everything from the games, the mood, the kindness and the outfits,” she said. Deimile Valiuskaite said: “We came from Leicester to see Santa. It’s amazing. My daughter really enjoyed it.” Cleveland Campbell, who leads the events team at the Clarence Street church, was surprised by the significant level of interest. He said: “The turnout was great, it was more than what I expected, which was great to see. There was just a general excitement.” “I was kind of thinking it would be smaller, 40 or 50 people, but God showed me that I can do bigger than what you imagine.” Mr. Campbell explained that the intention behind the event was a form of outreach, aiming to inform the public of their presence and activities.
