Luke Combs UK, a Country and Western tribute band originating from Wolverhampton, has achieved significant popularity, resulting in an invitation to tour the United States. Composed of teachers from Wolverhampton and Telford and Wrekin, the group was formed to emulate the Grammy-nominated Country singer, who has since expressed his full endorsement of their act. The band is currently experiencing considerable success within the music genre and is scheduled to commence their US tour next year. Lead singer Liam Price stated that receiving recognition from the actual star was a considerable honor. He further elaborated on their performance style, saying: “We don’t talk like Luke,” adding, “We don’t talk in American accents. We stick with our Midlands accents, we tell people we’re from Wolverhampton.” Price concluded, “People love that human side of it, it’s not all a front.” Liam, the lead singer, resides in Wolverhampton and is employed at a high school, where he coaches girls’ football. Dave, the drummer, teaches percussion in the Telford and Wrekin area, while Steve, the keyboard player from Wolverhampton, also works as a piano and music teacher. Dan, the guitarist, serves as a peripatetic music teacher for Telford and Wrekin Music Service, and Scotty B, on bass, works in special needs in Wolverhampton. In contrast, the authentic Luke Combs is 34 years old and was born in North Carolina. All five of his initial singles reached the top position in the Country and Western charts, and he was awarded single of the year at the Country Music Association Awards last year for his rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.” The band indicated that the real Luke Combs appears to be a strong supporter of his Wolverhampton counterparts. Mr. Price elaborated, stating: “They also reached out to us, his management team and the artist himself to say that we’ve got their blessing and they support what we’re doing which is amazing,” and concluded, “It’s probably the highest accolade we can get really.” Post navigation Composer to Present Work Inspired by Heart Attack Experience Latest Offerings from BBC Radio Solent
