A local library is scheduled to cease operations for approximately three months early next year to facilitate renovation work. This facility, located in Yaxley, close to Peterborough, is set to close its doors on 6 January 2025 for a duration of around 13 weeks, as reported by the Local Democracy Reporting Service. Cambridgeshire County Council has stated that the due dates for all borrowed materials will be prolonged until the library resumes its services. While the library is closed, patrons will have access to a mobile service that will visit the village monthly, or they can utilize the library situated at Sawtry Community Centre. The mobile library vehicle will be stationed at the Austin Hall car park from 10:00 to 15:00 GMT on three specific dates: 18 January, 15 February, and 15 March. Sawtry Library operates during the following hours: Tuesdays from 15:00 to 19:00 GMT; Wednesdays from 10:00 to 13:00 GMT and again from 14:00 to 17:00 GMT; Fridays from 15:00 to 17:00 GMT; and Saturdays from 09:30 to 12:30 GMT. The facility remains closed on all bank holidays.
