Motherwell defender Dan Casey aims to transform Fir Park into a formidable venue as the club seeks to improve its home performance. Stuart Kettlewell’s squad secured a late victory against St Mirren last weekend, ending a winless streak, but has recently encountered difficulties at their Lanarkshire home ground, having lost three of their last four matches played there. With Dundee United scheduled to visit Fir Park on Saturday, Casey conveyed his ambitions to club media, stating: “We want to make this the fortress for other teams to come here and have a very hard game.” He further elaborated on their home record: “We started off the season quite well here, obviously we had a bad result last week to Hibs, but hopefully get back on the winning train here and win as many points as we can at home and see where that takes us come the end of the year.” Regarding their recent away success, he added: “To get a win and clean sheet at the weekend was very important. We were very disappointed in the games we did lose.” Casey indicated he is not concerned with discussions surrounding Motherwell’s current impressive fifth-place league standing at this point in the season, focusing exclusively on defeating United. He continued by reflecting on previous encounters and the team’s forward-looking perspective: “I think we’ve had two great games with them this year already. Hopefully we can get a result and look forward to the Christmas period.” Casey also commented on the team’s approach to the league standings: “I don’t think anyone’s looking at the league table, it changes quickly in this league, especially with the busy schedule coming up.” He concluded by outlining their strategy: “If we look too far ahead we’ll get caught up with ourselves, so I think focusing on the next game, we’ll go from there and just see how things go.” Post navigation Fraserburgh Stuns Annan in Scottish Cup as Five Non-SPFL Teams Advance St Gallen: Larne’s Upcoming European Opponent Profile
