Additional vaccination clinics are being made available in Wolverhampton for children who did not receive their complimentary flu vaccine at school. The City of Wolverhampton Council stated that the free vaccination is available to all children from reception through Year 11. Appointments for these clinics, scheduled for the current weekend and the following one, can be booked by parents and guardians of students who missed the school vaccination dates, as well as for children who are educated at home. Councillor Jasbir Jaspal commented, “The free vaccine is the best way to protect your children and other family members.” She further explained that it offers particular protection against the flu for more vulnerable relatives, such as grandparents or individuals with pre-existing health conditions. She also added, “The vaccination is quick and safe and it’s also needle free for most children because it can be given via a nasal spray, rather than via injection.” “If your child has missed out on their vaccination in school, or you’d rather take them to a clinic, please book an appointment,” she urged. Clinics are scheduled for this Saturday at Dove Family Hub, Grangefield Close, Ryefield, operating from 09:00 GMT to 14:00 GMT. Another clinic will be held on 30 November at Whitmore Reans Family Hub, Lansdowne Road, during the identical hours. A concluding catch-up clinic is planned for 11 January at Biz Space, Planetary Road, also from 09:00 GMT to 14:00 GMT.
