Bonfire Night celebrations across Surrey are set to commence this weekend. Although the main observance occurs on Tuesday, numerous community groups and organizations have scheduled firework displays starting November 1. Some of these events will also incorporate torchlit processions and funfairs. A selection of the largest events taking place in Surrey during 2024 has been compiled. A number of events are scheduled for Friday, including Godalming’s town fireworks, which will be held at the Rugby Club on Guildford Road, with a procession starting at 18:00 GMT. Esher Rugby Club is also set to host a display on Friday. Saturday will host the majority of the weekend’s displays. A major event is planned for Chiddingfold, necessitating the closure of some village roads between 15:00 and 22:00. Guildford’s fireworks fiesta in Stoke Park will open its gates at 17:00, featuring live music from 18:00 and the main display at 20:30. The Kempton Park fireworks will also include a funfair, but tickets must be booked in advance. The Brockham bonfire event states it offers “one of the largest firework displays in Surrey,” with roads through the village closed from 17:30, preceding the torchlight procession from the Green. Displays are scheduled for Sunday at Cleves School in Weybridge and Colets in Thames Ditton.
