In Ballymoney, two residences sustained damage when “suspicious devices” were reportedly hurled at them. Police confirmed that two loud explosions were reported on Carnany Drive in the town shortly after 02:00 GMT on Saturday. Law enforcement officials stated, “Officers attended and discovered the remnants of two suspicious devices which had been thrown at two properties and exploded, causing significant damage.” They added, “This security alert was in a busy residential area and could have caused serious injury or even worse.” Police indicated that investigations into these attacks are continuing. DUP Councillor John McAuley expressed that the community was in shock following the incidents. He further stated, “Myself and my party colleagues, we’re going to be looking for meetings with various agencies, including the police, to see what can be done.” This content is copyrighted by BBC in 2024.
