Former Premier League midfielder Don Hutchison asserts that “the legs in some Manchester City’s players have deserted them,” which he believes is contributing to a diminished team performance. The club’s defeat to Tottenham on Saturday marked their most significant home loss since 2003, and it represents the first instance of them losing five consecutive matches since 2006. Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily podcast, Hutchison elaborated: “The players are just getting that little bit older and against Tottenham they just couldn’t get around the pitch.” He continued, “There was no energy, no urgency and I was watching thinking how they are struggling massively.” Hutchison further stated, “I never thought any of these players would struggle. The legs in some of the players have deserted them.” He also pointed out that “The free signing of Ikay Gundogan in the summer could have been a potential masterstroke but he is now 34-years-old.” Former top-flight striker Glenn Murray contributed to the discussion, remarking: “For four or five years, City have carried a cloak of invincibility and now there has become a blue print of how to beat them and that is through intensity.” Murray further explained, “They don’t carry too much speed in the team, so if you play with intensity and get at them, they can’t seem to live with you.” Post navigation Real Madrid Reportedly Targeting Alexander-Arnold in January Transfer Window Stephen Robinson Labels St Mirren ‘Lucky’ to Secure Declan John
