Leeds secured a 3-0 victory at The Den in September 2023, marking their first win at the venue in 11 years. Daniel Farke, Leeds United’s head coach, has stated his squad is prepared for the challenge presented by Millwall’s assertive playing style. Leeds is scheduled to travel to south London on Wednesday for a match against the currently in-form Millwall, with kick-off set for 19:45 GMT. Leeds currently holds the second position in the Championship standings, having remained undefeated in their last eight matches. Conversely, Millwall has ascended to seventh place following a streak of three consecutive victories. Farke conveyed to BBC Radio Leeds that “Millwall are an in-your-face team, they go for it, they will attack, chase and play brave.” Historically, matches played at The Den have presented difficulties for Leeds, who have secured only two victories in their previous 12 away games there, one of which occurred in September 2023 during Farke’s tenure. The team will encounter a Millwall squad that has not been defeated in five games and has allowed only a single goal during that period, having also achieved a significant victory against Burnley on Sunday. For success, Farke emphasizes the necessity for his players to manage the intensity of the event and the challenge presented on the field by Neil Harris’ team. He remarked, “There can be a hostile, spicy atmosphere but that’s what you like as a player.” Farke further stated, “You rise and don’t crack under this pressure. At least, that’s what I expect from my players.” He concluded by saying, “Of course it’s a tough place to go but we must find the balance between keeping our nerve and playing with fire in our hearts.”
