Scott Parker, who became Burnley boss in the summer, has overseen only two losses in his first 16 Championship fixtures. Burnley’s 1-0 victory against Bristol City, which included a clean sheet, signifies that the team has now allowed only six goals in their initial 16 Championship league fixtures. On Saturday, Scott Parker’s team restricted Bristol City to just two shots on target, even though they relinquished 52% of possession. A first-half goal from Jaidon Anthony secured all three points at Ashton Gate, propelling the Clarets to third place in the league standings. Burnley has now recorded 10 clean sheets in the league and has not allowed more than a single goal in any of their games this season. The total of six goals conceded represents the lowest number at this point in a second-tier campaign since Manchester United’s 1924-25 season. The victory on Saturday also marked Burnley’s third consecutive clean sheet, coming after a goalless draw against West Brom and a 1-0 win against Swansea City prior to the international break.
