Prominent figures from the UK punk music scene are set to perform at a new one-day music festival scheduled for Glasgow next year. The Sex Pistols, with Frank Carter, are confirmed as the headliners for the Summer Sessions Punk All Dayer. They will be joined by The Stranglers, The Undertones, and Buzzcocks. Additionally, Scottish groups Skids and The Rezillos are also slated to appear at the event. The festival, taking place on 21 June, is anticipated to draw thousands of punk enthusiasts to Bellahouston Park in the city. Event organisers characterized it as an “unmissable gathering of punk icons” designed to “celebrate punk music in its raw, rebellious glory”. Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols are scheduled to perform with Frank Carter, following their sold-out concert at Glasgow’s O2 Academy in September. The group’s track, God Save the Queen, achieved notoriety as the most censored record in British history, having been banned by the BBC and nearly all independent radio stations across Britain. John Lydon (Johnny Rotten), the band’s original frontman, has not appeared with the group for an extended period. Tickets for the upcoming festival are scheduled to become available for purchase later this week.
