Shayden Morris has expressed pride in his resurgence at Aberdeen and is now aiming for a place in the starting lineup, building on his recent impactful contributions as a substitute. The 23-year-old, who failed to score last season in a limited capacity, has made a strong impression this season under manager Jimmy Thelin. The former Fleetwood Town player has contributed two goals and seven assists, primarily appearing off the bench, during the Dons’ strong start to the Premiership season. Morris conveyed his satisfaction with his return to playing and contributing to the team, stating, “I’m really proud of myself what I’ve done to get back playing and contributing to the team,” and adding, “I feel like I’m having a big impact at the moment.” He emphasized his current enjoyment while maintaining a grounded approach, noting, “I’m enjoying the moment, but staying level-headed and taking it game by game. Every game I go into, I’m ready to do what I know I can do whether it’s from the beginning or me coming on.” Morris also addressed his common moniker, asserting, “I know I’ve been called a super-sub; I kind of just want to be a super player. If it’s being a substitute and helping the team, I don’t mind it, but of course I want to be a starter.”
