Following Aberdeen’s 1-3 defeat to Hibernian, manager Jimmy Thelin commented on the match, stating: “We felt really well prepared for this game, the fans were here with us and pushed us but the result is not a good feeling. “There’s learning points like how we want to play and how we need to protect each other better. Football is a game of small margins and mistakes can happen but the players need to protect and cover each other better because the opponent today hurt us really, really bad. “A goal can always happen but the thing is how you react. We need to trust more in what we are doing and what we are good at. We have to stay together and do the basic principles. We need to be more determined and less emotional, that’s up to me and my staff to keep working on that. “We are 11 players who have to defend and we have to do it better but what we do as a team is the most important thing. It’s not easy to win games if you get three against you.” Thelin also reflected on the nature of a football season and the team’s immediate future, adding: “I think a football season can be up and down. The best way to manage it is to focus on the long-term. What counts is how we end but now we have to focus on the short-term and not overthink things. “We can’t feel sorry for ourselves, we can’t hide, we have to prepare for the next challenge.” He further emphasized the importance of current performance over external solutions, stating: “We shouldn’t focus on the transfer window right now. “Our performance right now is what matters, I’m not thinking about an easy solution from someone else. We have to do things right here. “Let’s see what happens in the future but that’s not going to be the way out.” Post navigation Erin King Recognized as Women’s Breakthrough Player of the Year Moeen Ali Honored with Degree by Coventry University
