Rail operations connecting Nottingham and Derby with London have been halted as a result of flooding and landslips. East Midlands Railway (EMR) initially reported anticipated delays on the segment between Kettering and Leicester. However, by approximately 18:30 GMT, all train services bound for London St Pancras were stopped, and EMR stated it could not assure passengers of reaching their intended destinations. Network Rail engineers are scheduled to examine the track to determine when rail operations can resume. Throughout various regions of the UK, residences and roadways have experienced inundation during periods of heavy rainfall, especially in Wales, with over 100 flood warnings active solely within England. An EMR spokesperson commented: “The heavy rain has flooded the railway and also caused a bank-slip in the area. “This means it is now unsafe for us to run our services on the Intercity route between Kettering and Leicester. “Unfortunately the diversionary route we would usually have is not available either, also because of flooding.”We are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move, however we have been unable to resource these at the moment, therefore if you wish to continue your journey you may have to find your own way to complete this.” Post navigation Height Barrier and Cameras Installed on Beach Road to Restrict Campervan Parking Laos Backpackers Shun Spirits Amid Suspected Poisoning Fatalities
