Enthusiasts of comedian Peter Kay have expressed considerable excitement following his announcement of two performances scheduled for the island in 2026. The comedian revealed these additional performances for his “Better Late than Never… Again” tour during a television advertisement broadcast on Sunday. These newly announced engagements are set for the Villa Marina’s Royal Hall in Douglas on February 20 and 21, 2026, and are currently designated as the concluding confirmed dates of the tour. The venue corroborated the announcement via Facebook, stating that its team was “beyond excited” to host the entertainer. In a released statement, Peter Kay commented: “It’s been wonderful doing what I love most, stand-up comedy.” He further remarked, “Laughter is more important than ever in these challenging times and with the cost of living still at an all-time high, ticket prices for the new dates will start from £35 with a booking fee.” According to producers, these performances were scheduled in response to “overwhelming demand” for a tour during which Kay has performed in some of the United Kingdom’s largest arenas. They also indicated that these new performances would feature him in more intimate settings, such as the Royal Hall, which possesses a maximum seated capacity of 1,360. The comedian commenced this tour in December 2022 and recently concluded his 100th performance at the Manchester AO Arena. Ryan Archibald, a resident of Castletown, commented that it was “really exciting for someone that big to come over, I’m a big fan, I saw him in Manchester last year and it was great.” He stated his intention to “definitely” attempt to secure tickets, and despite anticipating “a commotion online,” he was prepared to “get in there.” Dot Stanley of Peel remarked that “he is funny and makes me laugh,” but also suggested that some individuals might face disappointment, as “it’ll be a sell out, you’ll be lucky if you get a ticket.” Concurrently, Gary Burns from Douglas expressed his belief that this event could encourage other prominent performers to stage shows, stating: “If Peter Kay comes to the Isle of Man, other people might come over too.” Tickets are scheduled to become available for purchase at 10:00 GMT on Saturday, accessible either directly from the venue or through online platforms.
