The States of Guernsey has implemented changes to parking time limits, aiming to enhance the public’s ability to partake in town festivities. From Saturday until January 7, 2025, a selection of two-hour parking spaces in St Peter Port will be extended to three hours. The government specified that these modifications affect 114 spaces at North Beach, 145 spaces at Albert, and 98 spaces at Crown Piers. Additionally, the 19 three-hour parking spaces situated on the Havelet Bay side of the Model Yacht Pond have been converted to 10-hour parking, a measure intended to “increase capacity for those working in town,” as stated by the States. Officials also reported that the S bus services, which typically operate at 20:35 GMT, will be delayed until 21:05 GMT on late-night shopping evenings, held every Thursday. The government clarified, “These routes are the S1 to the north of the island, the S2 to the coast, the S3 to the west of the island and the S4 to the north of the island.” Furthermore, Petit Train will provide a complimentary park and ride service from 18:00 until 21:00 on late-night shopping evenings, operating between Sir Charles Frossard House and Stand A at the bus terminus near Picquet House.
