The parliamentary office belonging to the MP for Shrewsbury has been subjected to vandalism. A photograph, posted on Facebook by Labour’s Julia Buckley, depicted black paint covering the windows and the sign of the office, located on Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury. Ms. Buckley stated that the act of vandalism occurred overnight and had been reported to the police. West Mercia Police confirmed they are investigating the criminal damage at the premises, conducting inquiries and collecting witness statements. The police further advised that anyone possessing relevant information should get in touch with the force. “Fortunately we have high security, alarms and CCTV cameras,” the MP commented in the post. “My office staff have the right to work without intimidation and all incidents against parliamentary staff are taken very seriously.” For updates from BBC Shropshire, individuals can access content via BBC Sounds, Facebook, X, and Instagram.
