Law enforcement officials in Devon, having confiscated an estimated £2,000 in suspected Class A drugs from a local residence, stated that this operation demonstrates their “proactive” approach to addressing reports of criminal acts. Devon and Cornwall Police reported that their officers executed a warrant at a Dawlish address in October, prompted by community concerns regarding alleged drug dealing. Authorities confirmed the arrest of a 49-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, who is presently out on bail as investigations continue. Inspector Sean Roper, representing the Dawlish neighbourhood police team, commented: “This proactive action sends a clear message that we listen to our communities’ concerns and take robust action against people committing crime.” The execution of the warrant was spearheaded by the force’s proactive unit in conjunction with the Teignmouth neighbourhood police team. Insp Roper added: “We will continue to carry out proactive work to identify offenders, including warrants, gathering intelligence and conducting patrols.” He further stated: “All information we receive from the public helps us build a picture of crimes happening in our area. These reports help us take action, just like this warrant, to pursue criminals causing harm in our community. We’re listening, and we’re acting on your concerns.” Law enforcement urged individuals possessing information regarding illicit activities to contact them directly or submit reports anonymously via Crimestoppers.
