Three individuals have been apprehended following the confiscation of a machete and illegal drugs from a property situated in York. North Yorkshire Police officers conducted a raid at the address on Fossway during the early hours of Thursday, where they also discovered a sum of cash. Those arrested during the operation include a 40-year-old man from York, an 18-year-old woman from Leeds, and a 16-year-old boy, also from Leeds. The police force confirmed that all three suspects remain in custody as the investigation progresses. Law enforcement officials suspect the substances found at the property are class A and B drugs, which are slated for laboratory analysis. Sgt Stuart Henderson stated: “As this warrant operation shows, we work day and night to tackle suspected drugs and weapons offences and keep communities safe.” He added, “We’re here for residents and we’re on their side. We’re also working around the clock to make North Yorkshire a no-go area for criminals.” Henderson further highlighted that crime in North Yorkshire had seen an overall reduction of 4.6% in the past six months, with serious violent crime decreasing by nearly 6%.
