Teenage Cyclist Critically Injured in Stoke-on-Trent Car Collision

A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition following a traffic collision in Stoke-on-Trent. Emergency services responded to the incident, which involved a silver Renault Clio and a bicycle, occurring outside Screwfix on Leek Road in Hanley shortly after 18:00 GMT on Monday. Staffordshire Police reported that the teenager sustained head and leg injuries and was transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The police force issued an appeal for witnesses, as well as individuals possessing CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward. West Midlands Ambulance Service stated that bystanders were providing care for the boy when paramedics arrived at the scene. A spokesman added, “Upon assessment the boy was found with serious injuries and the team quickly administered trauma care to him to stabilise his condition.” Police confirmed that the car’s driver was unharmed.
