Following a disappointing loss at Ibrox, Cammy Devlin stated that Hearts must secure more points from their “positive” displays. The Edinburgh club currently occupies the second-to-last position in the Scottish Premiership standings, having accumulated nine points from their initial 13 matches. On Sunday, Rangers narrowly defeated Hearts due to an early goal from Cyriel Dessers, despite Hearts creating opportunities for a deserved equaliser in both halves through Kenneth Vargas. Neil Critchley’s managerial period began with victories against St Mirren and Omonia, but he has since managed only a single win across the subsequent five fixtures. Midfielder Devlin commented, “I feel like it’s the story of the season in a lot of ways,” adding, “Where you come off thinking we played really well, but just don’t get a result.” He further expressed, “It’s just frustrating when you play the way we do, and don’t get a goal.” Devlin continued, “I hope watching it is encouraging, because the message [Critchley’s] given us is to play and be brave, because he obviously thinks that there’s quality within the squad to do that.” He observed, “And I feel that since he’s come in, even in some of the games we’ve won, the games we’ve drawn, the games we’ve lost, that the actual performances have been positive.” Regarding the Ibrox match, Devlin stated, “We walk away from Ibrox without a point. At minimum it needs to be a point because of how we played.“ He concluded by saying, “We’re sitting not where we should be on the table. So I think every time we step out on the training pitches, there’s got to be a purpose to improve and to get better as an individual, as a team.” Post navigation England Concludes Autumn Series with Decisive Victory Over Japan Scotland’s 2-1 Victory Over Poland: Key Player Performance
