The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council is inviting residents to provide feedback on proposals aimed at revitalizing the Berkshire village of Ascot. The council’s plans focus on enhancing walking and cycling routes, local infrastructure, and the high street. Additionally, the authority’s draft supplementary planning document outlines “design principles to guide new development” and potential solutions for parking challenges within the village centre. Councillor Adam Bermange expressed his desire for Ascot to be a “high quality place to live, visit and do business.” He further stated, “It is vital that future development reflects residents’ views.” This planning document was developed subsequent to community engagement conducted earlier in the year. Individuals who reside, work, or visit Ascot have the opportunity to complete an online questionnaire as part of the consultation, which concludes on 19 January. Furthermore, three drop-in sessions are scheduled for December, which they are encouraged to attend. Additional details are accessible on the council’s website.
