Former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce has stated he feels “not proud” regarding an incident where he threw an individual’s phone to the ground. This action occurred after a homophobic slur was directed at his younger brother, NFL star Travis Kelce. Both brothers have Super Bowl victories in their NFL careers. Social media footage depicts Jason Kelce navigating a crowd at a stadium located in Pennsylvania. During this, an individual directed the insult towards Travis, who is a player for the Kansas City Chiefs and is in a relationship with singer Taylor Swift. Subsequently, Jason Kelce seized a person’s phone, threw it to the ground, and then seemingly repeated the homophobic slur back to the individual who requested their phone’s return. Speaking to ESPN, Jason Kelce stated, “Everybody has seen on social media everything that took place this week,” adding, “I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it. “In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate and I just don’t think that’s a productive thing, I really don’t. I don’t think it’s the right way to go about things.” He further elaborated, “In that moment I fell down to a level I shouldn’t have. The bottom line is I try to live my life by the golden rule that I’ve always been taught – I try to treat people with common decency and respect. “I’m going to keep doing that moving forward, even though I fell short this week.”” Jason Kelce retired in 2024 after completing 13 seasons with the Eagles and currently serves as an analyst for ESPN. Both brothers also co-host a podcast where they conduct interviews with celebrity guests and share details about their personal lives.
