An individual has been incarcerated after another man was assaulted with a crossbow in Wolverhampton. Authorities had previously stated that Syed Hassan, 27, was charged in connection with an incident on Farndale Avenue in 2022, during which a man was attacked and sustained serious facial injuries. Hassan, residing on Crosby Close in the Whitmore Reans area of the city, received a sentence of four years and three months in prison at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday. This sentencing followed his guilty plea in August to the charge of grievous bodily harm with intent. A charge for possessing an offensive weapon in a public place is to remain on file. Hassan and Zain Ali, 31, of no fixed abode, had been charged with kidnap following an alleged incident. However, the Crown Prosecution Service opted not to offer evidence in this case, a decision a judge at the court accepted in October of this year.
