An individual has been taken into custody following reports of a person observed carrying multiple knives outside the Houses of Parliament. According to the Met Police, officers responded to the scene in central London at 14:00 GMT on Tuesday, where they detained the suspect. The 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and has been transported to a police station. The force further stated that no injuries were reported. Following the incident on Tuesday afternoon, police vehicles were seen parked in front of Carriage Gates, one of the most prominent entrances to the Palace of Westminster. A man wearing a red hooded top was observed in handcuffs, surrounded by police. The area was cordoned off during the incident, and the entrance was closed. A spokesperson for UK Parliament stated: “We are aware of an incident outside Carriage Gates.
