The Isle of Man is anticipating wintry conditions, including sleet and snow. A yellow weather alert has been put in place for these conditions, covering the period from overnight through to early Tuesday morning. The Met Office has released yellow weather warnings, predicting up to 8cm (3.1 inches) of snow on elevated areas exceeding 1,000 feet (304.8m), while lower elevations are expected to experience sleet. This initial warning remains active until 04:00 GMT on Tuesday. Additionally, a separate warning for icy conditions has been issued, effective from 03:00 on Tuesday until 12:00. Although temperatures are projected to climb above freezing by 10:00, meteorologists indicate that ice might persist until 12:00 before fully dissipating. The Department of Infrastructure has carried out gritting operations on routes including Richmond Hill to Port Erin, Creg Ny Baa to the Glen Duff Depot, and Peel to Dalby. Further wintry precipitation is anticipated for Tuesday evening and extending into the early hours of Wednesday.
