An incident described as “terrifying” involved suspected hare coursers who reportedly used catapults and rammed a farmer’s vehicle. Wiltshire Police have launched an investigation into the event, which occurred at approximately 00:20 GMT on Sunday at a farm situated in Wilsford, close to Pewsey. According to police, six vehicles are thought to have been implicated, with the individuals suspected of the crime encircling the victims. A police spokesperson also stated that the force is aware of a video related to the incident being shared on social media and requested that the public refrain from disseminating it. Authorities reported that the alleged hare coursers discharged catapults, damaging the windows of their own vehicles, and repeatedly collided with a farmer’s vehicle. Among the vehicles believed to be involved are a silver BMW X5 and a Toyota Rav 4. Inspector Andy Lemon, a member of Wiltshire’s rural crime team, commented on the situation, stating: “This was a terrifying incident for both victims and we are treating it extremely seriously.” Inspector Lemon appealed for any witnesses or individuals possessing footage of multiple 4×4 vehicles traversing Amesbury, Wilsford, and the Woodfords to come forward and contact the police.
