A charity is set to introduce a new initiative aimed at assisting girls identified as being at risk of offending to remain in school, having successfully met its fundraising goal. According to a spokesperson for Black Country Women’s Aid, the “Be You” service will offer support to these girls in the West Midlands, focusing on their wellbeing, confidence, and resilience. Sara Ward, the charity’s chief executive, stated: “By supporting girls through their transition into adulthood, we improve their life chances and help to break the cycle of violence.” The organization confirmed it achieved its £10,000 funding objective for the scheme following a £5,000 donation from local solicitor’s Waldrons, which was subsequently match funded. Black Country Women’s Aid operates from various centres throughout the region, including locations in Wolverhampton, Dudley, and Walsall. Ms Ward explained that the youth justice support scheme is designed to enhance girls’ wellbeing and assist them in remaining within the education system. She added: “The people who come to us for help have complex needs and face many challenges.” Ms Ward further elaborated: “Be You will support young girls with their wellbeing, confidence and resilience, helping them to stay in education, develop aspirations and find places of safety.” Post navigation Fathers Affected by Knife Crime Tragedy Meet Minister to Advocate for School Lessons Imposter Nurse Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
