The Showgrounds surface was deemed unplayable due to a waterlogged pitch, with the decision to call off the game made on Tuesday afternoon following a pitch inspection. Ballymena United, referred to as “The Sky Blues,” and Glentoran, known as “The Glens,” are now scheduled to meet on Tuesday, 7 January. Meanwhile, two Premiership matches also scheduled for Tuesday night—Dungannon Swifts against Linfield and Glenavon versus Crusaders—will proceed as planned.
