The Cincinnati Bengals leveraged a late-game error by the Dallas Cowboys to conclude their three-game NFL losing streak, securing a 27-20 victory in Texas on Monday. In the final two minutes of the game, with the score tied at 20-20, the Cowboys deflected a punt. However, Amani Oruwariye touched the ball, making it live, which then allowed the Bengals to recover possession. Three plays later, quarterback Joe Burrow connected with receiver Ja’Marr Chase for a 40-yard touchdown, which proved to be the game-winner. Cincinnati subsequently repelled a final offensive drive by the Cowboys, preventing Dallas from securing a third consecutive victory. This victory improves Cincinnati’s season record to 5-8 and maintains their mathematical eligibility for a play-off berth, though their chances are considered improbable, as they require favorable outcomes in other games. “We needed a break. We haven’t got many this year. It was nice to get that one, nice to come out of this with a win,” said Burrow. The Cowboys, who played without their key quarterback Dak Prescott due to injury, also hold a 5-8 record, possessing a slim prospect of qualifying for the play-offs.
