Two members of the House of Keys, who previously resigned from their positions within the health department, have now been appointed to new political capacities in other government sectors. Lawrie Hooper, a former minister, and Joney Faragher, a political member, departed from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) in October, following a dispute concerning Manx Care funding. Both MHKs have since joined the Department of Infrastructure (DOI), and Mr. Hooper has additionally assumed a position within the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture. This development occurs in the wake of a recent reorganization of the Council of Ministers, during which Michelle Haywood was named the DOI minister and Claire Christian was appointed to lead the DHSC. Tim Crookall, who previously held the position of DOI minister before Ms. Haywood, was designated a minister without portfolio in the reshuffle, concurrently with David Ashford succeeding Kate Lord-Brennan as the minister for the Cabinet Office. Mr. Hooper and Ms. Faragher now serve alongside Dawn Kinnish MLC as political members at the DOI. This follows the resignation of Stu Peters MHK from his departmental role subsequent to the recent ministerial appointments.
