A project to refurbish a town’s bus station and enhance public toilet facilities is scheduled to commence next month. This £500,000 initiative for Tadcaster is intended to boost visitor numbers and activity in the town centre, as stated by North Yorkshire County Council. The station will incorporate visitor information services and live bus schedule updates, and the public toilets will be modified to improve accessibility. Additionally, the project encompasses the renovation of the Tadkebab fast-food establishment and a thorough cleaning of the surrounding vicinity. Councillor Kirsty Poskitt stated: “The bus station improvements are long overdue and very welcome. This area of the town is well used and the entryway for many people to Tadcaster.“We’ve listened to the community and made sure that the changes are beneficial to all.” The commencement of work for this scheme is set for 2 December, with an expected duration of four months.
