An arrest has been made following an incident in Derby where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian, a man in his sixties, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The police force stated that these injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A man in his thirties has been apprehended in connection with the event and remains in custody. Officers further noted that a section of Normanton Road, specifically near the Burton Road junction, is anticipated to remain closed “for some time.” The East Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it dispatched a crew to the scene of the collision and that one patient was conveyed to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
