Authorities have located a former Hollywood actor, previously released early from prison, who was sought for “evading” arrest in connection with a breach of his bail conditions, according to police statements. Jason Hoganson, known for a prominent role in the 1987 film Empire State, had been released from Durham Prison on 10 September. On 11 September, the 53-year-old was apprehended in Newcastle’s West End on suspicion of committing two counts of breaching a restraining order and one count of assault. Hoganson had been granted conditional bail after appearing at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on 12 September and entering a plea of not guilty to the charges. Northumbria Police indicated that Hoganson was being sought due to a breach of his licence conditions. His release earlier this month followed the completion of half of an 18-month jail sentence at HMP Durham. The Ministry of Justice has been contacted for a statement.
