A full day of rail operations along a West Midlands route has been called off, attributed to an insufficient number of trains. Transport for Wales (TfW) announced that no trains would operate between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International stations on Tuesday. This decision was made because of “more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time”. However, West Midlands Railway services operating between Birmingham and Shrewsbury proceeded as scheduled on Tuesday. TfW confirmed that tickets issued for their cancelled services would be honored on these alternative trains. On its website, TfW issued an apology, stating: “We apologise for the disruption to your journeys.” For updates, BBC Birmingham can be followed on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X, and Instagram.
