A woman has been taken into custody after two buskers were verbally assaulted in a North Yorkshire market town. The incident took place on October 27, at approximately 13:00 BST, while the buskers were performing at the junction of Zetland Street and High Street in Northallerton, when a member of the public reportedly shouted abuse at the duo. North Yorkshire Police stated that the performers were not physically harmed. Nevertheless, the force indicated its apprehension that the conduct “may be part of a wider pattern.” Officers confirmed that the 31-year-old woman who was arrested has subsequently been released on bail. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
