A primary thoroughfare has been rendered impassable following a severe multi-vehicle collision, which resulted in one individual sustaining serious injuries and another minor injuries. Devon and Cornwall Police reported that personnel were dispatched to the A30 near Launceston at approximately 07:30 GMT, subsequent to receiving notifications of an incident on the eastbound lane. Law enforcement officials confirmed that a lorry and several other vehicles were involved in the crash, and two individuals suffered injuries. They further indicated that the route was anticipated to remain shut for “some time.” Supt Si Jenkins stated that owing to Storm Bert, “we are receiving a significant number of road-related incidents this morning including collisions and fallen trees.” He continued, “Our officers are responding to these reports but I would encourage people to consider whether their journey is necessary.” Jenkins advised, “If you need to travel, please ensure you do so with care. If your journey is not necessary, please consider not travelling at this time.” For further information, BBC Cornwall can be followed on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
