An aerial high ropes course is planned for construction directly above a karting facility in Hull. According to the management of Hull Adventure Centre, this will represent the “first ever” instance of such a course being situated over active racing vehicles. This new attraction is anticipated to commence operations next spring, following Hull City Council’s selection of a contractor for its construction. The council is also responsible for the centre’s operation. John Haines, the manager, noted that the course’s development had involved two years of planning, expressing that he was “ready and raring” for its public enjoyment. Located at the Poorhouse Lane site, the course is designed to conclude with a 330ft (100m) zip line. Projections indicate the potential creation of up to 12 employment opportunities. Earlier this year, in March, Hull Adventure Centre commemorated two decades of karting operations by incorporating bubble ball football, tag archery, and dodgeball activities at the location. Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, who holds the portfolio for regeneration at Hull City Council, expressed approval for the proposals, stating that the project would “add to what is already a popular facility”. Ali Glendinning, the chief executive of High-Low Ropes Course Consulting Ltd, the company contracted to construct the course, described the “exciting project” as representing “a fantastic opportunity to bring a unique, adrenaline-fuelled experience to the area”.
