Catrin Davies, owner of Beti Bach Dog Day Care, is reportedly hopeful that classical music can mitigate noise concerns that have emerged regarding her plans to convert stables into dog kennels. The proposed kennels, situated at Wern Stables in Llandyrnog, have also garnered support from other local residents, who highlight its contribution to local employment. Ms. Davies has already implemented a change in the stables’ use, despite no physical alterations being made, and is now seeking official planning permission for this new enterprise. Beti Bach Dog Day Care began operations on July 30, 2021, and has been conducting its business from the stables since September 2022. The planning application specifies: “Classical/Soothing music is played within the kennels as it is scientifically proven to have a calming impact on the dogs.” It also notes that “any problematic dogs” who consistently bark will be banned. The business “has been very successful” since operating from this location, and the application assures that a member of staff is always present for boarding dogs overnight. Denbighshire council planners are set to examine the application before a final decision is reached.
