Barry Douglas, a former Scotland international, has joined St Johnstone after a career that included spells at Leeds and Lech Poznan. He explained that “The football project on offer” was the main factor attracting him to McDiarmid Park. Speaking on the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast, the 35-year-old shared his excitement about returning to his homeland after a decade away. He noted, “It’s a bit of a transition period for the club. The new manager has come in, so it’s new for me too, but it’s exciting of course. “It makes it a lot easier when you’re winning football matches, and that’s still to come but it’s an exciting project, and it’s probably the most important reason why I decided to come.” Douglas further clarified his decision, stating, “The footballing project, a room for improvement and to help try and change the culture a little bit, on and off the park, was the big draw for me.”
