An individual has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after crashing a vehicle near a police station and subsequently assaulting a police officer. Marian Stancu, aged 32, admitted guilt to a charge of dangerous driving in connection with the event that occurred in July within High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. According to Thames Valley Police, law enforcement personnel had instructed him to halt after he dangerously cut off other vehicles, but he proceeded to drive away and collided with railings. Stancu, whose address is Micklefield Road in High Wycombe, also entered guilty pleas for common assault against an emergency worker, refusal to provide a specimen for analysis, operating a vehicle while disqualified, and driving a motor vehicle on a road or public place without valid third-party insurance. Authorities stated that the accused abruptly pulled out in front of roads policing officers on West Wycombe Road during the early hours of Saturday, July 20. He “continued to drive in a dangerous manner” despite being instructed to stop, ultimately crashing into railings at the roundabout adjacent to Wycombe police station. PC Richard Lunn, the investigating officer, commented: “It is lucky that Stancu did not crash into a member of the public.” He added: “Stancu made the conscious decision to try and drive away from officers and flee justice, but I am pleased he has now been convicted and jailed.” The sentencing took place at Aylesbury Crown Court.
