Paul Topham, aged 45, has entered a not guilty plea to the murder of a 94-year-old individual, though he has confessed to committing burglary at the victim’s residence in Wolverhampton. Mr. Topham admitted guilt to charges of removing a key fob, glasses, various paperwork, and enamel badges from the home of Harold Monk on Inglewood Avenue in Bradmore on October 3. During an appearance at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Mr. Topham formally denied a further accusation of murdering Mr. Monk, who passed away in hospital the day following the break-in. The court’s public gallery was at full capacity as the defendant, whose address had been previously stated as Palmerston Road, Birmingham, was informed that his legal proceedings had been postponed for a trial. Judge Michael Chambers KC informed Mr. Topham that a date for the trial, anticipated to span a minimum of five days, required setting. The judge stated, “If you choose not to attend your trial, it may proceed in your absence.” Post navigation Police Vehicle ‘Deliberately’ Rammed, Two Officers Injured Man jailed after crashing vehicle and assaulting police officer
