A swimmer was successfully rescued by a lifeboat crew after encountering difficulties in the North Sea, off the coast of Macduff in Aberdeenshire. The incident prompted the deployment of the town’s RNLI rescue boat, an oil and gas industry search and rescue helicopter, and coastguard teams from Fraserburgh, Portsoy, Macduff, and Buckie, all dispatched to the scene at approximately 09:45. The individual was subsequently airlifted to Aberdeen for hospital treatment. Their current condition has not been disclosed.
