To free a horse that became trapped in a confined space adjacent to a structure, a wall required dismantling. The one-year-old horse, named Howard, became immobilized at his stables close to Duxford on Monday. Personnel from Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service indicated that sedation was necessary for the animal during the rescue operation. His owner’s social media update stated that Howard had damaged several barn boards, subsequently becoming lodged between a wall and a beam. The fire department reported: “He was able to be freed after an hour with only superficial injuries that will soon heal. No more playing hide and seek Howard!” Howard’s owner, located at Chrishall Grange, commented: “Amazingly apart from a few grazes and being a bit sore he seems to have walked away from it all OK.” She further mentioned that Howard was contentedly consuming his meal an hour subsequent to the incident.
