Train services in Kent are experiencing delays and cancellations due to a fallen tree. Passengers utilizing Southeastern rail services operating between Paddock Wood and Strood are encountering service disruptions following the tree’s fall near Halling. Substitute bus services will be provided, operating from Strood and Maidstone West, and also connecting Maidstone West and Paddock Wood, from 10:00 GMT to 12:30 GMT on Tuesday while the tree removal operation is underway. According to National Rail, train operations are deemed safe, however, the tree’s current state is described as being in a “precarious position”. National Rail further stated: “To ensure there is no future risk to services, the line between Strood and Paddock Wood will be blocked.” The stations experiencing service cancellations include Paddock Wood, Beltring, Yalding, Wateringbury, East Farleigh, Maidstone West, Maidstone Barracks, Aylesford, New Hythe, Snodland, Halling, Cuxton, and Strood.
