Aston Villa manager Unai Emery conveyed his profound admiration for Crystal Palace and their coach, Oliver Glasner, during his press conference held on Friday. Aston Villa is set to welcome Crystal Palace for a Premier League fixture on Saturday at 15:00 GMT. When questioned about Palace’s current performance, given Glasner’s squad ranks 18th in the league after 11 matches, Emery stated: “Crystal Palace have all my respect.” He continued, “We can analyse them playing against us three weeks ago, when they beat us here, and last season they were fantastic in the last four months of the season.” Emery further elaborated, “They are playing in the same idea and style, but they’ve had some injuries and [Michael] Olise is no longer in the squad. They are playing the same as last year when they were successful. They deserve more points than they have now.” Aston Villa approaches Saturday’s encounter following a sequence of three successive losses, a trend Emery is determined to reverse this weekend. He reiterated, “They won against us three weeks ago and my respect for them is a lot.” Emery also commented, “I am positive because we are working to correct small details.” He concluded, “Respect is analysing them and trying to tactically respond to everything they are going to demand from us.”
