An ex-police officer, accused of rape and sexual assault against a woman he encountered through a dating application, is scheduled to make a court appearance. Christopher Mallet, 40, who previously served as a Sussex Police constable stationed in Horsham, allegedly assaulted the woman he met online while he was off-duty in May 2019. Following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), he was charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The probe concluded in March 2021, and the Crown Prosecution Service subsequently approved the charges after reviewing a file of evidence submitted by the police oversight body. Mr. Mallet is set to appear before Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. Post navigation Police Caution Public About Lottery Prize Scam Two Men Convicted of Teenager’s Murder Following £60 Dispute
