A 79-year-old woman has been taken into custody after a vehicle was observed traveling in the incorrect direction on a major motorway. Law enforcement was alerted just before 19:40 GMT on Tuesday, receiving reports of a car being driven against the flow of traffic along the eastbound carriageway of the M27 in Hampshire. The silver Honda Accord proceeded between junction 2, designated for Ower, and junction 1, for Cadnam, subsequently continuing onto the wrong side of the A31 before exiting the dual carriageway. Officers were directed to an address in Wilton, Wiltshire, where an individual was apprehended on suspicion of dangerous driving. She has been granted bail until 29 January as further inquiries are conducted. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is appealing for any witnesses and relevant dashcam footage.
